LISBON FESTIVITIES

Lisbon will be stage for festivities until September. With a programme thought for those who live, work and visit Lisbon, the streets, the cultural spaces, the parks, the gardens, the Tagus River and the city in general will be stage for innumerable events. Music, theater, dance, exhibitions, festivals and fairs, street theater, regattas and nautical parades... Events for every styles!

Monsanto will be stage for the Summer concerts. At the Keil do Amaral Amphitheater will perform artists such as Fernanda Abreu (June 19 | 10.00pm), Dulce Pontes and Ennio Morricone (June 28 | 10.00pm), Sérgio Godinho (July 9 | 10.00pm), Maria João and Mário Laginha (July 17 | 10.00pm), Tito Paris (July 24 | 10.00pm), Mafalda Veiga (July 31 | 10.00pm), David Fonseca (August 4 | 10.00pm), Mariza (August 14 | 10.00pm), Pedro Abrunhosa e os Bandemónio (August 21 | 10.00pm), João Pedro Pais (August 26 | 10.00pm), Camané (September 2 | 10.00pm), Toranja and Da Weasel (September 11 | 10.00pm), Gabriel O Pensador (September 18 | 10.00pm) and the Gulbenkian Orchestra – Concert for Children (September 25 | 07.30pm).

Fado is one of the highlights of Lisbon Festivities. In the city viewpoints and trams, São Jorge Castle, Centro Cultural de Belém, Casa do Fado e da Guitarra Portuguesa will echo the voices and guitar sounds from the most renowned Portuguese Fado singers.

The Fórum Lisboa will also be stage for concerts every Wednesday of June and July: Danças Ocultas, Rodrigo Leão, Jorge Palma, Lhasa, Rádio Macau and Mão Morta.

For the fans of electronic music, the city welcomes the Cosmopolis – International Festival of Electronic Arts that will take place on the bars and gardens of Lisbon. The Festival will start on June 24 at Santiago Alquimista.

All over the city there will be exhibitions on the streets and closed conventional places. Earth Seen From the Sky at Praça do Comércio, “Uma Epopeia – Do Gesso à Pedra” at Padrão dos Descobrimentos, “Santo António e os Lenços dos Namorados” at São Jorge Castle, Amália at Casa do Fado e da Guitarra Portuguesa, “Real: Surreal – Olhares sobre a Colina do Castelo” at Praça do Comércio, Rua Augusta, Hotel Frankfort windows and São Jorge Castle, A Football City at Arquivo Fotográfico Municipal and Cordoaria Nacional, Offside: Euro 2004 at Galeria Municipal da Mitra, Pessoa Portraits at Casa Fernando Pessoa.

The city’s Baixa will also have constant animation with music from traditional groups and dance performances such as folklore and dancing street.

Tagus River will count with a range of activities that vary between regattas and boat parades and light and sound shows.
